Israeli Ground Campaign Intensifies as Starvation Claims More Lives in Gaza

An intensified Israeli military ground campaign is unfolding across various areas of the Gaza Strip, accompanied by what observers describe as "very heavy fire" from Israeli warplanes and artillery units, according to on-the-ground reports from journalists embedded in the besieged enclave.

The renewed assault comes as humanitarian conditions continue to deteriorate sharply. Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that eight more Palestinians, including a child, have died from starvation within the past 24 hours. Officials attribute these deaths directly to Israel’s blockade and severely limited access to food and aid.

Currently, only 86 aid trucks are being allowed into Gaza each day — a figure that represents just 14 percent of the minimum 600 trucks needed daily to meet the basic needs of the population, according to data from Gaza’s Government Media Office.

Since the war began in October 2023, at least 60,933 Palestinians have been killed and 150,027 wounded, health authorities in Gaza say. Meanwhile, the October 7 attacks inside Israel left 1,139 people dead and more than 200 others taken captive, according to Israeli sources.

Despite repeated international calls for a ceasefire and humanitarian access, the situation on the ground continues to worsen as bombardments escalate and famine spreads.
