President Hassan Mohamud Reaffirms Somalia’s Support for Palestine at Doha Summit

DOHA, Qatar, September 15, 2025 — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud participated in the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha, where leaders gathered to discuss the escalating crisis following Israel’s recent attack on Qatar’s sovereignty and security.
In his address, President Mohamud expressed Somalia’s solidarity with the Government and people of Qatar, condemning what he described as a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty. He reiterated Somalia’s position of standing firmly alongside fellow Muslim nations in defense of their security and stability.
The Somali leader also reaffirmed his country’s historic stance in support of the Palestinian cause, calling for united Arab and Islamic action to establish an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.
The Doha summit brought together heads of state and government from across the Arab and Islamic world to coordinate responses and strengthen regional unity amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.
